I am an interdisciplinary scholar of French and Francophone studies whose research draws on literary theory, visual c The objective of my academic work is to foster a productive dialogue between these fields of knowledge in order to rethink contemporary politics of life, health, and conservation in a historicized perspective.
I position my work in three research areas: 1 Francophone studies, 2 environmental humanities and sustainability studies, and 3 health humanities and disability studies. Each chapter queries a site of transmission, inheritance, and remembering: French literary history within the research university, resistance to mainstream historiography, a proto-ethnographic document, the writing of history in contemporary Francophone Caribbean fiction, and a West-African film memoir.
